In-App Support
With the release of 7.50, Opus 2 introduces a new way to deliver in-app support to all end-users. This comes in three formats:
- In-App Resource Centre,
- In-App Functionality Guidance and Tool Tips,
- In-App Alerts and Warnings.
Resource Centre
Product Support for the platform has traditionally been provided in PDF format or via the secondary support site – magnumsupport-us.opus2.com. With the release of Opus 2 version 7.5, we are merging this functionality into the Opus 2 product itself.
On login, users will now see a new icon in their global navigation bar, by clicking this, they will launch the Opus 2 Resource Centre. For example, filter for documents matching a certain date and also containing links.
As you can see, this resource centre fetches all of the support guidance and displays it in-app to the end-user. They are fed contextual guides for that page and can search across all of the user guidance manually.
Opus 2 understands that end-users will always prefer to self-serve with support, and we believe this new functionality is the beginning of bringing that methodology into the Opus 2 platform. We hope this will reduce end-user support queries for training and supporting teams alike.
However, the Resource Centre is not just for displaying User Guides – in fact, we have the ability to deploy:
- Best Practice Workflows,
- Onboarding Guidance,
- Custom Integrations.
Functionality Guidance / Tool Tips
Further to the resource centre, we can also deploy interactive tool tips and in-app guides to drive feature adoption, remind users of best practices and again – reduce support queries.
One example of an in-app tool tip could be a new feature announcement – for example, Chronology Timeline, on a user’s first access to the tool, they would be presented with the following feature notification:
However, we also take it a step further - with full walkthroughs of new functionality available to users if they wish, this will either be prompted on the first launch of the new tool or can be relaunched using the resource centre, for example, a walkthrough on Timeline would be shown like so:
Alerts and Notifications
As part of our on-going commitment to bring efficiency to the support messaging processes, another functionality with 7.5 is the ability to display fully customisable maintenance alerts to users – reducing the need for email list communication. These will be minimal, in-app notifications to users:

New Document / Chronology Filter Tool
With release 7.50 Opus 2 is pleased to enable a new Filter tool on both the Documents and Chronology tab which enhances the user's ability to filter sets with more complex parameters.
Feature Improvements
Chronology Improvements
We've made improvements to Chronology, including but not limited to:
- Large Dataset Importing / Exporting / Loading,
- Import of Windows-1252 Characters is retained,
- Chronologies are shown in date order,
- Chronology Filter (see above).
Search Results - Context Lines and Upload Date
Users can now set custom context lines on search results on the platform, as well as view the metadata field "Upload Date" all within the Search Page.
Date and Time Extracted from EML on Upload
On upload, metadata is now extracted from Email files (EML) on upload to the platform, and the fields are automatically populated when the files are finished processing. For example:
Default Tag Colour Selection
To make color scheme's consistent and easier to maintain, we've now introduced a set color palette across the platform in folder and tag colour creation.
Auto-Play in Browser (MP4)
For all new workspaces on the platform, any MP4 videos uploaded will now be playable in the platform itself, without having to download the file:
For historic workspaces, this is available under the settings tab available to admins.
Bug Fixes
Alongside new features and improvements to the existing functionality, we have also fixed a number of bugs relating to chronology and entities. If you have any questions about what has been resolved, please contact your client success manager.
