Chronology entries can be linked to characters that have been created in the Characters worksheet. This can be done when creating a new chronology entry or when editing an existing entry.

Linking to Characters When Creating a New Chronology Entry

Step 1: Start creating a new chronology entry

This can be done using 'Add Event' from the Chronology page, when creating a new entry by linking documents as sources from the Documents page, or when creating a new entry when linking a note as a source from the Document viewer.

Step 2: In the 'Add Event' dialogue the event can be linked to characters by clicking the 'Select' icon under Characters to bring up the 'Add Characters' dialogue.

Step 3: Existing characters can be linked by using 'Search', or you can add a new character from here by selecting 'Create new'.

More information on creating a new character can be found here.

Step 4: Once you have selected the character(s) to be linked click 'Save' within the 'Add Characters' dialogue and the 'Add Event' dialogue list the linked characters under the 'Characters' heading.

Step 5: Complete the event by clicking 'Save'. You can review the characters that have been linked to the event from the chronology table, or view more detail in the right panel once you select the entry in the 'Characters' tab.
